Vernice Carmack Hammons, 84, of Lake City, passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at the Lake City Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Knox County, Kentucky on September 25, 1936 to the late Clark and Nollie Williamson Carmack.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Bethea (Steve) of Lake City; daughter-in-law, Linda Hammons; grandchildren, Jennifer Pumbley (Tim), Christy Tipton (John), Amy Hammons Carty (Brian), Christopher Bethea (Amanda) and Curtis Bethea (Melody) along with eight great-grandchildren.
