Vernetta Mae Ridder of Hebron, NE the daughter of Floyd and Mary (Witt) Fry was born June 20, 1924 in Thayer County near Hubbell. She departed this life Sunday January 31, 2010 at Blue Valley Lutheran Nursing Home in Hebron, NE at the age of 85 years.
Vernetta grew up in the Hubbell area graduating from Hubbell High School, after graduation, she attended the Hebron Academy for one year. She married Theodore Ridder January 17, 1946 in Minneapolis, KS, and they made their home in Chester, NE where she worked as a cook for Foote’s Cafe. After Theodore’s death Vernetta and her son Rick moved to Fort Collin, CO where she was a dietitian for a nursing home living there from 1980 to 1991. Upon retirement she moved to Hebron, NE where she lived until her death.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Theodore.
She is survived by two sons, Rick Ridder of Hebron, NE and Lynn Ridder and wife Janet of Albany, GA. Two grandchildren; Teresa Rogers and her husband Scott of Rancho Cucamongo, CA, Troy Ridder and special friend Jamie Cline of Midland, Michigan, three great-grandchildren; Kristen and Erin Rogers and Cody Lynn Ridder. One sister Bernadene Mumm and husband Meredith (Bud) of Hebron, NE nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
