Verna Marie Williams, 86, of Parkway Dr., Clarksburg, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Heartland Nursing Home. She was born December 20, 1927 in Grafton, WV the daughter of the late John Wesley Whisner and Annie (Guy) Whisner. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Williams, Sr. Verna is survived by five sons; John W. and Frances Williams of Annapolis, MD, William P. and Amanda Williams of Martinsburg, WV, Joseph L. and Von Williams of Clarksburg, James E. and Carol Williams of Franklin, IN, Phillip R. and Shannon Williams of Coshocton, OH; four daughters; Patty and George Catlett of Stonewood, Dottie and John Bassel of Clarksburg, Shirley Poindexter of Indiana and Mary and Stan Wright of Coshocton, Oh; thirty grandchildren; forty-eight great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins; brother-in-law and wife Harry and Virginia Williams; sister-in-law Roxie Nicholson, Shinnston, WV; son-in-law; Ralph Cathell. Verna was preceded in death by one son; Harold W. Williams, Jr. and two daughters; Carolyn Cathell and Darlene Kline. She was last living member of her immediate family, she was an avid lover of Bingo, very spiritual Lady and was always reading her bible. She is a former member of the Keyser VFW. Verna was the BEST Mother, always wrapping herself around her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
