Verna M. Shoaff, age 84, of Salem, died at 5:02 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2012, at the Essex of Salem II. She was born May 23, 1927 in Cleveland the daughter of the late Lewis and Margaret (Grimm) Dunlap. Mrs. Shoaff was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and the Salem Slovak Club. She enjoyed taking Gad-About Tours trips. Her husband, Earl B. Shoaff, whom she married March 28, 1953, preceded her in death January 1990. Survivors include two sons, Robert E. (Jenelle) Shoaff and Danny (April) Shoaff both of Salem; a daughter, Doris (Robert) Senior of Salem; 5 sisters, Dorothy Renouf of Austin, Texas, Edna Ward of Galesburg, Illinois, Mary Swim of Salem, Betty Lemasters of Deming, New Mexico and Virginia Hazelwood of Lisbon; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Peggy Sue Shoaff; a son, Earl B. Shoaff, Jr.; four brothers, Ray, Jim, Lee, and Frank Dunlap; and a sister, Margaret Altman.
