Verna (Foley) Grafton, 96, of Ottawa died on May 19, 2011, at her home.
Verna was born June 29, 1914 in Marvell, Ark. to Douglas and Mae (Tyner) Foley. Her family settled in Ottawa in 1929. She was employed at Nabisco in Marseilles for 31 years until her retirement. Following her retirement, she maintained friendships with many of her co-workers. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Vernas favorite pastimes were traveling, dancing, and socializing with friends at dinner.
Verna is survived by 2 grandchildren, Cherie Monterastelli of Ottawa and Mary J. Monterastelli of Ottawa; 3 great grandchildren, Karen Mayse and Kevin and David Maier; 4 great-great-grandchildren; Hadley, Smith,and McGregor Mayse, and Henry Maier, one sister, Gladys Lewis of LaSalle and long time companion, Dario Galletti.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Gudgell; second husband, Marlow Grafton; one daughter, Ethyl Strong; one grandson, Monte Monterastelli and 9 brothers and sisters.
