Verna M. Parnell, 94, of Tibbie, passed away August 30, 2016 at Mobile Infirmary. She was born May 30, 1922 to Annie and Milton McIlwain. A member of Tibbie Baptist Church, she enjoyed fishing, gardening and shopping.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon Parnell; siblings, Ulios “Pete” McIlwain, Harold J. “Bo” McIlwain, Zollow Theophilus “Thee” McIlwain, and Vergia “Vergie” McIlwain. And long-time companion, John H. “Buck” Alford.
He is survived by children, Albert “Chubby” (Lanie) Parnell, Mollie M. (James R.) Davis, Annice Lavender; 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren.
