Verna Dobbins Whitmore 1928 – 2010 Verna Whitmore was born in California, but grew up in Western Colorado, where she completed high school and began college. That summer, she met Bob Whitmore, a recently discharged Navy Veteran of the Pacific War who, like she, became an employee of Montgomery & Ward.
