Verna Ann Elliott, 87, of Chesterfield, passed away September 18, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 30, 1932 in Daleville, Indiana to Cora and James Baldwin. Verna graduated from Daleville High School and was a loving homemaker and worked as the Chesterfield Town Clerk for 15 years.
She loved camping, fishing, crocheting and puzzle books. She was a wonderful mother who raised an amazing family with her beloved husband, Virgil, who she shared 64 wonderful years with. Verna is survived by her loving children, Sharon Elliott, Debbie (David) Scott, Candy (Mike) Bennett, Pete (Trina) Elliott, and Tammy (Tim Funk) Cogswell; grandchildren, Cora (J.R.) Miller, Justin (Katie) Elliott, Dustin (Chelsea) Elliott, David (Brianne) Scott, Travis (Dallas) Bennett, Tyler Bennett, Courtney Bennett, Ashleigh (Ronald) Solorzano, Phillip (Veronica) Cogswell, and Nikki (Justin Flynn) Scott; 14 great-grandchildren; and her brother, James (Margaret Baldwin. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Vera Campbell, Betty Ponsler, and Phyllis Stewart.
