Verlin Rosenkranz, 89, of O’Fallon, Ill., formerly of Manhattan, Kansas, born October 26, 1916, in Washington, Kansas, died Monday, October 16, 2006, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Mr. Rosenkranz was a member of First Christian Church in Manhattan, Kansas and attended 1st United Methodist Church in O’Fallon, Ill. Bud was a graduate of Kansas State University & an avid Wildcats fan. He had been employed with the Kansas Farm Bureau in the public relations and marketing departments, retiring in 1982. He was preceded in death by his parents, William & Olive, nee Simon, Rosenkranz, 3 brothers; Laurin, David & Bill Rosenkranz, a sister Hazel Thompson and a son-in-law Charles Malcom.
Bud is survived by his wife Val, nee Dikeman, Rosenkranz of O’Fallon, Ill., formerly of Manhattan, Kansas, 2 daughters; Linda Malcom and Susan Holden, both of O’Fallon, Ill., a son David (Janis, nee McNeil) Rosenkranz of Minden, Iowa, a sister Helen Pannbacker of Washington, Kansas, 6 grandchildren; Kevin (Janice) Wenger of St. Charles, MO, Kimberly (Brian) Mann of Columbia, MO, David (Melanie) Holden of O’Fallon, Ill., Dr. Christopher Holden of New York City, NY, Amanda Holden of O’Fallon, Ill., Heather Holden of O’Fallon, Ill., 4 great-grandchildren; Andrew & Kathryn Wenger, Drake & Dillon Mann, nieces & nephews, special friends Loren & Kyanna Reiswig of Manhattan, Kansas & many other dear & special friends.
