Verla Gregersen returned to our Heavenly Father on January 20, 2017. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing.

She was raised on the ranch with her five brothers – Wayne, Phil, Lloyd, Bruce, and Fay. She began her love affair with horses during this time. She was crowned Bear Lake County rodeo queen in 1951.

Verla graduated as Valedictorian of Georgetown High School’s Class of 1949.

She met Jack Gregersen and they were married in 1952 in Soda Springs. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple on December 2, 2008. After a brief move to Price, Utah the family returned to Montpelier.

Verla was employed by several businesses- Lowe’s Drug Store, Barrett Floral, and Allinger’s. Her business sense and interest in fashion led to the opening of Joveno’s – a clothing and accessories store – with two of her friends. The store closed after 10 years in business.

Being a working mom kept Verla very busy but she found the time to be involved with several organizations: founding member of the Montpelier Mothers Club, PTA, Chamber of Commerce, Planning and Zoning Commission, and Travel and Tourism Board.

Verla is survived by her husband Jack of 64 years, son Randy and wife Jeanne of Twin Falls, ID; daughter Tracy and husband Robert of Green River, WY; and son Steffan and wife Sherri of Whitewater, CO. Seven grandsons and twelve great-grandchildren are her legacy.
