After a courageous battle with cancer, Verl Reed Lish passed away Sunday, January 24, 2010 with his wife at his side.

Verl was born November 4, 1923 in Onyx, Bannock County, Idaho to Gladys Gwen (Bush) and Edwin Earl Lish.  The family moved to California when Verl was a teenager; there he graduated from HollywoodHigh School.  He married Joyce Alice Hartwick; they had two daughters.  He served in the Army in the South Pacific during World Ward II and in the 11th Airborne Ranger Company of the 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team during the Korean Conflict.

When he retired as a plumber for Los Angeles County, he and his wife, Lucy, moved to his home state of Idaho where he has enjoyed the beauties of camping, fishing, and being close to his family.  He is survived by his wife, Lucy Lish; daughters, JoAnn (Kerr), Ranae (Evans); and son, Charles; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and seven great great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank all those who took time out of their lives to help in his last days.
