Vera Mae Shaffer, 99 of Peoria,formerly of Ladd, died at 4:45 pm September 30,2014 in UnityPoint Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria.
Mrs Shaffer was born in Ladd on May 6,1915 to John and Elizabeth(Eustice)Chioni. She married William Shaffer in 1933. Mrs Shaffer worked as a Salesperson at Carson-Pirie-Scott & Co in Peoria for 31 years. She was a graduate of Ladd Grade School and Hall Township.
Mrs Shaffer is survived by one son, Bill(Carol)Shaffer of Aurora; four grandchildren, Ken,Kim,Lisa and Bill; two great-grandchildren, Brooke(Jeff) and Jessica; two great-great-grandchildren, Ethan and Jensyn; one sister Betty Corsolini of Ladd; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband on October 27,1972, one son Ronald Shaffer in 2005, four sisters, Evelyn,Jean,Vivian and Katie, one brother Jack(Phyliss)Chioni and devoted friend and companion Albert Flintzer.
