Vera Lauria Minicozzi, 88, of Cheshire, passed away peacefully on Sept. 13, 2016 at The Connecticut Hospice, Branford. She was the widow of Michael Minicozzi. Born in New Haven on May 18, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Giacomo and Amelia Candela Lauria. She worked as a waitress at several well known area banquet facilities including The Waverly Inn, The Ambassador, The Park Plaza and The New Haven Lawn Club. Most recently, she was active with Hamden Congregate Housing. She is survived by a daughter, Laurie A. (Kevin) Murphy of Cheshire, with whom she resided; two sons, Steven A. Minicozzi of Cheshire and Michael (Debra) Targove of Old Saybrook. She was predeceased by four brothers, Rocco, Anthony, Joseph and Vito Lauria and four sisters, Christina “Tina” Cupo, Eleanor Farquhar, Teresa Candela and Rose Perona.
