Mrs. Vera Jean Green, 80, of Rising Sun IN, passed away at 12:10 PM, Saturday, September 27th, 2008 at Dearborn County Hospital, Lawrenceburg, IN. She was the widow of Elwood Green. Elwood and Vera Jean were married on October 25, 1947. Vera Jean was born in Switzerland County , IN on June 23, 1928, the daughter of the late Harvey and Mamie (Branham) Lester. She attended Vevay High School. She was a member of Eastern Star.
Vera Jean is survived by three daughters, Sharon Smith of Rising Sun, IN ; Roberta Green of Price Hill, OH; Carrie wife of Fred Couch of Lawrenceburg, IN; She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and by a sister, Joyce Jones of Rising Sun, IN. a brother, Wilford Lester of Universal City, TX; She was preceded by 6 brothers; Lawrence, Harold, Leroy, Kenneth, William, Eddie Lester and by a sister; Ethel Mae Bevis and by a grandson, Garrett Couch.
