Vera F. Potter, age 93 of Galien, died Sunday night, March 8, 2015 At Brentwood of Niles. Vera was born on May 26, 1921 in Galien, Michigan to Milo and Nina (Schaber) James. She grew up in Galien, and was a lifetime resident. She attended Galien High School, graduating in 1939, and then furthered her education at Western Michigan University where she received her BS degree in Education.
On June 2, 1945, she married Richard R. Potter at the Olive Branch Church in Galien. Vera was employed with the Galien Twp. School System, where she was an elementary teacher for 30 years.
She was also a member of MARSP, MEA, NEA, Galien Woods Historical Society, and BCEA.She is survived by her son James (Sharon) Potter of Washington, grandchildren Jerry (Christie) Potter of Auburn, Washington, Janelle (Jon) Morrow of Snoqualmie, Washington, Chad (Rachel) Potter of San Diego, California, and great-grandchildren Rylee, Brennan, Cy and Rory, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband on July 14, 2011.
