Vera Carolyn Sprouse Snyder

Vera Carolyn Sprouse Snyder, resident of Wind Crest, Highlands Ranch, died October 22, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband Gene, and son Richard. Vera is survived by sons Michael (Raelene) and George (Linda.) She also is survived by grandchildren Kristin (Kevin Keller), Paul (Lisa), Luke (Doe), Brian (Heide), Allison (Gabe Schnelle) and Phillip (Gretchen). In addition, she is survived by great-grandchildren Garrett Keller, Jacob Snyder, Justin, Brennan and Natalie Snyder, Mia and Maise Schnelle, Chloe Snyder and Josie Snyder. Also, special family member, Leanna Diercks Snyder.
Vera began her teaching career at Waverly Elementary School in the San Luis Valley and retired from Denver Public Schools thirty-five years later.
Following Gene’s death, Vera lived at Wind Crest where she completed writing her autobiography, “Surviving the Simple Life.” In 2012, Vera was awarded a third-place EVVY Award in a statewide competition held by the Colorado Independent Publishers Association.
