Velva M. Sherrill, 80, of Three Oaks, Michigan, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at LaPorte Hospital. Velva was born December 30, 1927 in Rolling Prairie, Indiana to Marguerite (Lowe) and Joseph Reese.
On November 26, 1950 she married Robert Sherrill in Rolling Prairie. Velva was a card player and also spent her free time working crossword puzzles. She was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed taking care of her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Velva was a member of the First Congregational Church in Three Oaks.
Velva is survived by her husband Robert; sons Rex (Priscilla) Sherrill, Berrien Springs, Michigan and Kevin Sherrill of Three Oaks; grandchildren, Rebecca (David) Brightbill of Berrien Center and Stephen and David Sherrill of Berrien Springs; great grandchildren, Kari and David Brightbill; sisters, June Ebel of Scottsdale, Arizona and Maureen Sherrill of Three Oaks; brother, James Reese of Holbrook, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
Velva was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
