Passed away Wednesday morning, October 23, 2019 at her home. Velva was born July 7, 1932 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Elva and Rose (Doodge) Gelbaugh and had been a lifelong resident in the Kalamazoo area. She was an avid hockey fan and was a 40 year season ticket holder for the Kalamazoo Wings.
Velva enjoyed taking trips around Michigan to see the lighthouses and spending time in Mackinac. She also enjoyed gardening, knitting, bowling and her dog, Lucy. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. On November 21, 1959 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Thomas M. Fenwick who preceded her in death on July 4, 1997.
She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister. Velva is survived by her children, Thomas (Becky) Fenwick, Paula (Martin) Striebel; 2 grandchildren, Heather Markle, Martin (Carlena) Striebel; 5 great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
