She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Laurel in 2000; her 2 sons, Calvin E. and Ronald Miller; daughter, Judith F. Davis; her 2 sisters, Barbara Hoover and Wanda Last; and brother, Larry Farrington.
Velma graduated from Colfax High School and attended computer classes through the local extension office.
She was a member of the Newton Baptist Temple.
