Velma Louise Rahe Daub, age 89, of Jacksonville, and formerly of Bluffs, was called to her eternal home on Tuesday, August 21, 2012.
She was born December 10, 1922, on her parents’ farm near Bluffs, the daughter of Elba Earl and Laura Vortman Rahe. She was baptized December 24, 1922, by Pastor John Deterding. She was confirmed May 3, 1936, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Neelyville. She married William Phillip Daub on April 21, 1946, at Trinity Lutheran Church, and he preceded her in death on June 25, 1997, after 51 years of marriage. Also preceding her in death was her beloved sister Bernita Rahe Likes.
Mrs. Daub is survived by her brother Vernon Rahe and wife Alice, as well as eleven nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Daub was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Neelyville and was currently a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Jacksonville. She graduated from Bluffs High School in 1940, and completed her course of study at Gem City Business College in Quincy. She was an active partner in managing and operating the family television business with her husband. She also was the business manager at the Stratman Oldsmobile-Cadillac dealership in Jacksonville for 35 years.
