Velma Esther HannenAge 97, passed away peacefully at home on June 1, 2019.She is survived by her sons, Bob, Jim and Mark and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband Merle and her son Tom.Velma was born March 15, 1922, in Owosso, as one of ten children to the late Earl C. Whiteherse and wife Lucy (Wardwell).She lived her entire life in Owosso. After working at a local business, Velma focused on her family as a homemaker and mother. She frequently said she was proudest of raising four sons.Velma enjoyed collecting glassware, fine furniture and unique antiques. She also volunteered at Red Cross and Owosso Memorial Hospital.She developed many lasting friendships and gave much more than she took from the world.Cremation has take place and there will be no funeral services per her wishes.Online condolences may be sent to the family at nelson-house.com.
