Velia Moreno, 69, of Oxnard, passed away Tuesday, June 28, at St. John’s Regional Medical Ctr., following a very brief illness.
She was born December 17, 1941, in Fenner, CA and had been a Ventura County resident for 42 years.
As a single parent, mom did the very best she could to raise her family proper. Her life lessons help create the strong and independant style she had. It also taught her to be loving without discrimination. Whenever a friend was in need, her home was open; they all called her “mom” and she considered them, in a sense, her children.
She loved her music, but most fondly, “Lupillo”, she enjoyed everything Mickey Mouse, she was a fierce Bingo player and especially enjoyed watching WWE with her grandchildren. She took pride in everything she did and this could be seen especially in her beautiful garden of plants and roses.
Mom, we love you and you will be missed.
Velia was preceded in death by her mother, Consuelo Rodriguez; her daughter who she loved dearly and missed so much, Connie “Boo-Boo” Juarez, as well as her brother, George Trainer.
She is survived by her children Bernice, Eleanor, Javier (wife, Lisa); stepdaughter, Angie; grandchildren, Diane, Frankie, Maria Consuelo, Cecilia, Veliana, Serena, Nico, Baby Ruben, Angel, Luis, Arleen and Letty; nieces and nephews, Georgiana, George and Carol; sister-In-law & best friend Julia; life long friend Gildardo Juarez and beloved extended family and friends.
