Velda Rae Coffman Waterman, 85, of Meridian, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2018, with her family by her side. Velda was born July of 1933 in Nampa; daughter of Albert and Slyvia Coffman. Mom was raised in Nampa and attended Nampa Schools. Mom married her high school sweetheart, Armond “Si” Waterman, on September 20, 1950.
Mom worked as an accountant at BSU. She was a Huge BSU football fan, always had her BSU shirt on for game day. In 1976 Mom and Dad moved to Saudi Arabia (Dad’s job) and were able to travel the world.
Velda is survived by her children, Diane (Don) Graham, Debi (Tom) Freeland, Dalene (Art) Smith, and Duane (Betty) Waterman; 21 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren, and 17 great great grandchildren. Mom is survived by her sisters, Verda Giustina and Elaine Coffman; and brother-in-law, Garry Waterman. Mom was preceded in death by her parents and our Dad “Si” Waterman.
We have fond memories at the holiday dinners and of course the backyard pool parties.
Mom will be greatly missed by all of her family; thank you Mom for always being there for us.
