Velda June Green passed away January 10, 2021. She was 76. Velda was born April 25, 1944 to Edna and Wilbur Green. She is survived by her daughter, Vickie (Johnny) Collins; three grandchildren, April, Cody and Colman Collins; and sister, Elvira Patterson.
Velda grew up in Silver Cliff, Colorado with her three brothers, Wayne, James and Gerald, and two sisters, Roberta and Elvira. She moved to Cañon City in 1972, where she raised her daughter and helped raise her grandchildren. She was a cosmetologist and also worked as a home healthcare aide for many years, until retiring to be a full-time grandma.

Velda had so many gifts and talents. She was a very memorable woman; she was caring, loving and all around the best. She had a feisty personality and was tough as nails. She knew that what is most important in life is family and God. She will be missed greatly.
