Velda is predeceased by husband, Kenneth Oswald Johnson; son, Terry Johnson and brothers, Grantly and Ewart Taylor.
To cherish her memory are children, Ricardo Johnson (Pamela), Cheryl Johnson, Elva Wiggins, Hampton Johnson (Stephanie), Murdock Johnson and Michelle Webb; grandchildren, Anson and Lexine Johnson, Rickel Holder, Alan and Ezra Williams, Renate and Ashoka Denny; great-grandchildren, Ezra Jr., Xander and Alanni Williams, Joshua,` Alina and Ayana Johnson, brothers, Jubie Taylor; sisters, Dorna Jones, June Hood, Angela Franklin and Elaine Sealy; nieces and nephews, Dennis, Gary and Nigel Headley, Paul and Valerie Jones, Gabrielle Cornett, Roger Franklin, Marva, Andrew, and Gregg Hinds; friends, Ethel Burke, Hazel Osborn, Christine Foong, Holda DeLaVoe and Donna Parris.
