Vaughn Russell Stai
passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 22, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 11, 1924 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and grew up in the area. After serving in the army during WWII, Vaughn graduated from Stout University. He married Ruth Ann Christensen in 1952. Vaughn spent his working career at 3M. Preceded in death by parents, Olaf and Inga Stai; grandson, Michael Paul Kearney; brothers, Francis (Anna), Orrin (Bertha), Glenn (Carol), Bill, Lee, Earl (Marie); sisters, Ilene (Bud), Avis (Hank); and sister-in-law, Eunice. Survived by wife, Ruth Ann; children, Jean Stai (Arthur Penfield), Kristi Kearney (Paul), and John Stai; grandchildren, Matthew Penfield, James Penfield (Candice Keimig), and Katie Blaha (John); great-grandchildren, Gretta and Vaughn Blaha. Also survived by brother Allen and sisters-in-law, Betty Stai and Phyllis Vradenburg, and many nieces and nephews.
