Vanda Ornella (Giardini) DiCioccio, 85, of Newington, formerly of Hartford, died peacefully on Monday, Aug. 29, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Cesidio G. DiCioccio. Born and raised in Pratola Peligna, Italy, daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Buccini) Giardini, she was a longtime Hartford resident before moving to Newington. Vanda retired from Royal Typewriter, Hartford, after many years of employment. She loved being a grandmother more than anything, being surrounded by family, and cooking remarkable dishes to enjoy together.A loving and devoted mother and Nanna, she leaves her daughter Maria LaRosa and her husband Sebastian, of Newington, and adored grandchildren Kayla LaRosa and her boyfriend Dante Gugliotti of Boston, MA, and Jay LaRosa of Newington. She also leaves her sister Delfina Carducci of Newington, brother Luigi Giardini and wife Dina in Italy, and close family members, Marino and Maria Carducci, Mariella and Bruno Caruso, Marisa and Walter Gualtieri, Angela and Daniel D’Agata, Antonio and Mariagrazia Giardini, Maria and Dario Giannella, and Lisa and Peter Mirabelli and their families. She was pre-deceased by an infant son and her son Giovanni “Johnny” DiCioccio, her sister and husband Giuseppina and Florideo DiBacco and her brother-in-law Panfilo Carducci. Her family would like to express its deepest appreciation to the doctors who took such great care of Vanda, and whom she loved, Dr. Mohamed Mansoor, Dr. Alfred Vichot and Dr. Harvey Lederman.
