NEW HARTFORD –JOHNSTONE – Valeria N. Johnstone, 88, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2022 with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Richard S. Johnstone. Born August 25, 1933 in Springfield, MA; the daughter of the late Benedict and Eugenia (Novinski) Nowakowski. Val was overseas in Germany from 1960- 1963 when her two children were born. She moved to New Hartford in 1964. While her children were growing up, she was involved in the PTO and was a member of the Barkhamsted Women’s Club. She worked at the Town Hall in New Hartford for many years. She was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church for many years. Val also loved animals, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is already deeply is survived by her beloved children, Karin ODonnell and Richard B. Johnstone; 5 grandchildren, Dalton, Lance, Cassy, Megan and Connor; and 8 great grandchildren, Luke, Marshall, Andrew, Laurel, Gwendolyn, Violet, Brooke and Kennedy.
