Obituary

UNIONTOWN — Valeri Rose Fletcher Wilson, 42 of Uniontown, Fayette County passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Philadelphia.

Born in Bloomsburg on February 14, 1966, she was the daughter of Harold E. and Karen A. (Cline) Fletcher of Jacksonville, NC. She was raised in Montour County and attended Warrior Run Schools.

On March 26, 2002 she married Matthew E. Wilson, with whom she spent the past nine years.

She was a Logistics Manager with Cherry Tree Nursing Home and was perusing a degree in Medical Business at the West Virginia Career Institute in Uniontown where she had a 4.0 GPA.

She attended the United Methodist Church at Walnut Hill in Uniontown.

Valeri was a devoted mother and loved cooking for her children and family. She enjoyed motorcycle rides with her husband and shared her husband’s interest in antique automobiles. She also enjoyed making bead necklaces.

Surviving besides her parents, and her husband in Uniontown are a daughter, Katrina M. Swartz of Fairchance; a son, David J. Swartz of Carmichaels and his fiancee Emily Freehling; a step-daughter, Danielle R. Wilson of Uniontown and her fiancee Matthew Virgillo; two brothers: Kevin E. Fletcher of Albertson, NC and Theodore C. “Ted” Fletcher, White Hall Road, Danville; a sister, Vicki K. Corbin, Watsontown; and several nieces and nephews. She was looking forward to her first grandson, Connor, due this May.

The funeral service will be held Friday at 12:00 Noon at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville with Rev. Jerry Caswell officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 10 AM to Noon Friday. The family suggests contributions in her memory be made to Valeri Wilson’s Highway of Hope at www.highwayofhope.com, a foundation established through the Antique Automobile Club to assist others with cancer and cancer research. A memorial service will also be held Sunday at 12:30 PM at the United Methodist Church at Walnut Hill, Uniontown.
