IDAHO FALLS, ID — Val M. Carson, 72, passed away April 23, 2006, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
He was born April 28, 1933, in Shelley, Idaho, to Charles Edgar Carson and Carrie Chloe Mitchell Carson. He grew up in Shelley and graduated from Shelley High School.
Val joined the Navy after high school and was in the Korean War. He served on the ship, Bairoco and was involved in the Atomic bomb drop on the Bikini and Eniwetok Islands. He was awarded two bronze star medals.
