Urszula (“Lu” or “Lula”) Litavecz of Highland passed away June 21, 2016, surrounded by her family.
Lula was born August 26, 1950 to Stanislaw and Janina Kalwinski in Morpeth, England. Lu was the beloved of Alan, her husband of 43 years. She leaves behind two children, Chris Litavecz and Michelle (Jeff) Gale and one grandchild, Ethan Litavecz.
Survived by her brothers, Mark (“Marek”) (Linda) Kalwinski, Stanley (Alice) Kalwinski, and Myron (Kathryn) Kalwinski; brother-in-law Deacon Robert (Barbara) Litavecz; sister-in-law Vivian (late Richard) Devine; and nieces and nephews, Gretchen (Rob Funderburk) Kalwinski, William Kalwinski, Lara Kalwinski, Julie (Sean) Hogan, Greg (Elizabeth) Kalwinski, Nicholas Kalwinski, Roberta (Glen) Pietrzyk, Richard Devine, Denise Devine, and Brian Devine.
Lu was a 1968 graduate of George Rogers Clark High School and a long-time NIPSCO employee. She was a rabid Blackhawks fan, animal lover, avid reader, and lover of Polish food and the British royal family.
