Born on Oct 31, 1928, and raised in Oshkosh, WI to Walter and Paula Schriefer, the second oldest of six children. Ursula graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1946 and matriculated at Milwaukee Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing, being capped as a Registered Nurse in Jan 1950.
On Aug 15, 1953, Ursula married Donald H. Bade in Plymouth, WI whom she met after her parents had relocated from Oshkosh in 1949, when her father accepted a teaching and Principal position at St. John Lutheran Day School in Plymouth. Ursula and Don took up residence in Syracuse, NY where he had been employed by General Electric Co. as an accountant. Ursula and Don were the proud parents of three children while living in the North Syracuse area: Kristin Kay, born in 1954, Karen Louise born in 1956, and Paul Elwood born in 1959.
Schriefer Behrens (husband Hans) and 19 nieces and nephews.
