Urias Amos Pryor was born on May 2, 1932, in Henderson, Texas to his parents, Wilbert Pryor and Maurine Anthony Pryor. He was the second child born in the family. He was raised surrounded by his brothers, Wilbert, Jr., Melvin, Velton, Sonora, Winfred and his sisters, Annie, and Pennetter. He was educated in the public schools in Henderson, Texas where he graduated from Henderson High School. In June of 1959, Urias united in holy matrimony to Betty J. Williams. The couple exchanged vows in Littleton, Colorado. They enjoyed traveling to Texas, California and Louisiana. To this union, Terri, Michael and Steve were born.
