Uel Charles Nummy, age 95 of Birmingham, AL passed away on April 24, 2021. He was a Godly man who lived a Christian Life. He loved his family, animals, nature and his country. He served in World War II as a Marine in the Pacific Campaign. He fought in the Battle of Iwo Jima, Saipan and Okinawa. He retired from Birmingham Jefferson County Transit Authority after 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Vada Holemon Nummy. He was survived by his daughters, Deborah Nummy (John Bailey), Regina Nummy and Peggy Nummy Panos (Danny); grandchildren, Katie Panos Hale (Alex), Sarah Panos Jackson (Bradley) and Danny “Dan” Charles Panos; great grandson, Art David Jackson. The family would like to thank the Veterans Administration, especially Jann Hailey.
