Tyrone Eugene Ray, was born on August 22, 1942, to Elizabeth Dixon and Leonard Curry Ray Sr. in Birmingham, Alabama.
Tyrone enlisted in the military to serve in the United States Army shortly after high school. Tyrone worked at the Marriott Hotel in 2005 and received a certification of five years for his value and appreciation.
Tyrone was raised by his aunt, Queenel Moss, after his mother (Elizabeth) passed away. His mother requested, that her sister would take care of him and his three brothers. While his aunt Queenel was taking care of him and his brothers in Indianapolis, Indiana, her sister (aunt Margaret) was taking care of and raising her niece (Marion) and nephew (Donald) in Birmingham, Alabama. As time progressed and everyone got older, Tyrone was always on the move traveling here and there seeing different places. Tyrone ended up residing in Inglewood California in the mid eighties for thirty years before returning back home to Indiana.
Tyrone enjoyed many sports, especially basketball with the Lakers and or Celtics being his favorite teams.
Tyrone Eugene Ray, known to many as “T-Ray”, departed this life on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 80 years, and 4 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth Dixon and Leonard Curry Ray Sr., his aunt Queenel Moss, his brothers: Leonard Curry Ray Jr., Erskine Ray, Milton Ray, and his son Michael Stephenson
He leaves to cherish in memory his son, Kenyatta Ray; aunt, Beverly Dixon of Miami, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews, and a host cousins.
