On September 30, 2014, God called his name and he politely answered the call. Ty Colin Jenkins, a loving spouse, father, son, brother and friend is gone to be with his maker. On January 13, 1977, Mr. Elias and Vernell B.
Ty was a 1995 graduate of Holly Hill-Roberts High School. He was employed at Food Lion Warehouse and Sysco Foods before his health declined.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, where he attended faithfully. When he got to talking about the church, you would often hear him say, “Boy!! Rev. Shaw preached his behind off.”
On December 20, 2002, he was joined in Holy wedlock to his high school sweetheart, Mrs. Shaneaqua W. Jenkins. This union was blessed with six children.
Ty was a cheerful giver, a man who was never without a smile. He gave unselfishly to anyone who came in contact with him.
Left to cherish his memories: His loving wife, Mrs. Shaneaqua W. Jenkins; his six beautiful and precious children, Da’Shirelle Washington Jenkins, De’Riante Washington Jenkins, Deontre’ Gilliard, Tyleek Jenkins and De’Asia & DaNayjha Jenkins; his parents, Mr. Elias and Vernell B. Jenkins; father-in-law, Joseph Washington; two siblings, Ejaie and Tevlin Jenkins; two brother-in-laws, Calvin (Crystal) Polite and Joseph Washington; two sister-in-laws, Angela Washington and Jennifer Washington; his adoring aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
