Truman Wells, 88 of Petersburg, IL and formerly of Oldsmar, passed away on November 25 at Sunny Acres Home, where a compassionate staff and loving family cared for him the last three months of his life.  He was born in Morrisonville, IL on February 25, 1924 to Reasoner and Lela Cook Wells, one of 8 children.  He served proudly in the US Army in WWII, fighting in Normandy at Utah Beach on D-Day.  He married Dorothy Ann Coy in Ft. Myers, Florida on Valentine’s Day 1947.  She survives him.  They have 9 Children:  Kay, Diane, Tom, Jerry, Marcia, Dave, Mike, Michelle and Dan, as well as many cherished daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Brothers Wilbur and Don and several nieces and nephews also survive him.  After living in Decatur, IL for many years, he and Mrs. Wells retired to Oldmsar before settling in Petersburg in 2006.  Mr. Wells was a skilled carpenter, building everything from furniture to homes.  He loved reading, antiques, travel, and the companionship of his family and friends.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
