Truman Stone, 90, passed away early Saturday morning, January 5, 2013, at Pleasant View in Ottawa. Mr. Stone was born on August 22, 1922, in Kangley, IL to Fred and Dora (Rowe) Stone. He married Betty Wallem on March 10, 1943, in Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Joliet. She passed away on March 10, 2007. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ottawa. He was a farmer in Dayton and Wallace Township and retired from farming in 1988.
He is survived by three sons, Gary (Annette) Stone of Whitefish, Montana, Craig (Billie) Stone of Metamora, Illinois, and Paul (Catherine) Stone of Chicago, Illinois, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one sister, Maxine Eick of Ottawa, one brother, Marvin (Melita) Stone of Ottawa and a sister-in-law, Eleanor Yabsley of Ottawa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty, and one brother, Harold Stone. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church or Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
