Trudy Rosa Gschwend passed away May 20, 2017 at the age of 89, from Alzheimer’s Disease. Trudy was born in the small town of Alstatten, Switzerland on April 23, 1928. She was the wife of Leo Karl Gschwend until his death in 2003. Trudy is the mother of four children: Fred (Jeanne), Heidy Wyche, Susie Gschwend Orr (Ed), and Margi Gschwend Kaspari (Tony). She is the grandmother of six: Maria and Alex Gschwend, Jenna and Julie Kaspari, Sarah Orr and Michael Wyche. She has three great grandchildren: Phoenix Gschwend Ward, Tino Gschwend Ward and Theodore (Teddy) Gschwend. Trudy was married to Leo on January 6, 1951. They moved to Colorado in 1954 where they soon started their own catering business, Chef Leo’s Catering. They were the premier caterer in Denver serving Denver’s elite businesses and individuals for over two decades and trained many of Denver’s current caterers. Trudy loved the mountains where she and her husband built a beautiful chalet for their family to enjoy. She also loved to garden and raised many of her own vegetables.
