SPRING BRANCH, TEXAS – Trudie Bates Dear was called to her heavenly home on March 23, 2016, at the age of 95. She passed away at home in Spring Branch, Texas where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Steven and Iva Joyce Miller.Trudie was born on October 17, 1920 in McComb, Miss. to James Hiarm and Iva Nora Bates. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Bogue Chitto, Miss.She worked in the Fayette and Winfield Cotton Mills until retirement. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, travel and crochet until the age of 93. She loved crochet so much that she crocheted an afghan for each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Those memories will be kept forever.She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil V. Dear, two sons, James E. Bowlin and Bobby J. Bowlin; six sisters; two brothers; and great-grandson, Kyle D Miller along with many friends.She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Hilda Frances and Wyman Fowler of High Springs, Fla. and Iva Joyce and Steven Miller of Spring Branch, Texas, as well as 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great-grandchildren and daughters-in-law, Mary A. Bowlin and Norma Bowlin.
