Troy D. Kimmel, 74, died Monday at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born in Hartford City, the son of the late Walter and Goldie (James) Kimmel. Mr. Kimmel was a Korean War veteran. He spent four years in the Air Force as an aircraft and engine mechanic. He obtained his high school diploma from the U.S.A.F. Institute.
He also held a private pilots license and tried out sky diving for a while. He retired in 1999 after 33 years in production with Navistar International in Fort Wayne and Indianapolis. He enjoyed fishing and camping with family and friends.
Survivors include three daughters, Valarie (Gregg) Adams, Montpelier, Victoria (Mark) Parrish, Garrett, Millicent Ann Summers. Ft. Wayne; six grandchildren 10 great grandchildren; and a brother, Charles (Debbie) Fogle, Montpelier.
