Travis John Weishaar was born on December 23, 1971 to Gary and Pat (Harms) Weishaar in Algona, Iowa. Travis attended Algona Schools and graduated from Algona High School in 1990. Travis worked as an announcer for KLGA and was a Supervisor at Exceptional Opportunities. Travis coached Softball and youth bowling. The love for sports ran in the Weishaar family and the family was honored to have Weishaar Field dedicated in their honor.

Travis was very proud to have the money raised at the concession stand to be used to purchase the batting cage, uniforms and numerous other sports equipment. He would do anything for anybody and truly appreciated everything everyone had done for him. Travis had a huge sense of humor and would tease everyone, but he always knew when to quit to stay ahead. During the racing season, Travis could be seen supporting his brother, Cory, every Saturday at the Algona race track.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, served as the President for After 5 Kiwanis and headed Diamond Dawgs Youth Softball.

Left to cherish Travis’ memory are his parents, Gary and Pat Weishaar of Algona; brother Cory (April) Weishaar of Algona and their children Kylie Weishaar and Austin Weir Weishaar; grandmother, Dorothy Weishaar of Algona and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert and Margaret Harms; grandfather, Floyd Weishaar and uncle, Larry Harms.
