Travis Jay Wright, 29, of Newton died on Wednesday, October 11, 2017.
Travis, the son of Darrell Tenly and Jody Kae (Helm) Wright, was born on June 10, 1988 in Dubuque. They lived in Dubuque until 1997, when they moved to Newton. Travis graduated from Newton High School in 2007 and received his Electrical Diploma from DMACC. Travis had been working at Purfoods in Grinnell. He enjoyed sci-fi, reading, gaming, cheering for the Chicago Blackhawks, and making jewelry. The prides of his life were his three cats and his Miata.
Those left to celebrate Travis’ life are his mom, Jody Wright of Newton; grandparents, Virgil and Jean Helm of Crystal Lake; half-siblings, Rene and Kirk Brown, Matt and Apryl Wright, and Melissa and Danny DuPlessis; and his aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Wright; grandparents, Carl and Ethel Wright; and a sister, Laura DePlessis.
