Colonel Toxey A. Hall, Sr. (retired), a long-time resident of Merritt Island, passed away peacefully surrounded by family members, on January 24, 2020. He was 86 years old and living in Englewood, Florida with his wife.
Toxey is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sara and four children: Toxey Hall Jr., (wife Debbie) of Tampa and Melbourne Beach; Donald Hall (wife Laura) of Mooresville, North Carolina; Sara (Sally) Waggoner (husband Skip) of Port Charlotte, Florida; and Beth Gabrini (husband Carl) of Dalton, Georgia, as well as seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Toxey E. Hall, M.D., his mother Adrienne Hall, two brothers, Miles Causey and Francis (Butch) Hall, and two sisters, Cherry Roussel and Holly Hall.
Toxey was born in Atlanta, and grew up in Atlanta and Belzoni, Mississippi. He graduated from Druid Hills High School and attended the University of Georgia before being commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force in 1953. He met his wife Sara while serving as a flight navigator at Hunter Air Force Base in Savannah. After completing active duty, he earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech, and later, a Master of Engineering from the University of Florida.
Toxey will always be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
