On April 14, 2015 Tony Wooley departed this life for a better one with Jesus Christ. Tony was born in Holland, Texas to W. C. Wooley and Corrine Kelley on November 22, 1934. Tony married Mary Nelson. She was the love of his life. This July would have been their 60th year anniversary. She was a loving and caring wife taking care of him throughout his illness.
Tony leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Mary Wooley, (son) Tommy Wooley and wife Beth of Salado, (daughter) Sheryl Pruett and husband Sidney of Salado. Six grandchildren and five great grandchildren, (brother) Sonny Wooley of Belton and (sister) Faye Butler of Belton, (cousin) Mary Ann Hillard of Belton. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Billy Wooley, and an infant sister. Tony was a true Texas Lawman. He worked for the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission of 25 years as an agent, retiring in 1995. Prior to this he worked as a police officer for the Belton Police Department. His job with the TABC took him all over the state. He made friends where ever he was stationed.
Tony loved being a peace officer. After retiring Tony took up ranching and farming. His favorite pass times were playing dominoes at the Belton VFW, and drinking coffee at the Longhorn with all his old buddies. The one thing Tony loved most was his family. His kids and grandkids were his life. Tony fought his illness all the way to the end. The family would also like to thank Carol Weir and Dawn Guenat for all the love and friendship they showed Tony during his illness.
He loved these two like they were his own. Tony was also a lifetime member if the Belton Masonic Lodge. Tony requested that all donations go to the 3C Cowboy Fellowship in Salado, Texas or the Belton Masonic Lodge. For those who knew Tony, you knew of that special sense of humor he had. How funny he could be. He was also a master storyteller. Many folks have commented on his tales and stories. Tony was a great husband, father and Paw Paw and a one of a kind friend and he will be greatly missed.
