Tony J. Tomei, Jr 76, of Churubusco, passed away on July 6, 2019, at his home in Churubusco.

Born in Morgantown, West Virginia, on August 7, 1942, to the late Tony Tomei Sr and Angelina (Sellaro) Lash.  He spent his formative years in rural Markle, Indiana graduating from Union High School and was an avid baseball and basketball player.  He excelled as an athlete and received many awards.

Tony spent many years farming and owned his own concrete business with his father. He worked at International Harvester for some time as well. He also drove a semi for Snyder for many years. Tony lived in New Port Richey, Florida for the latter portion of his life where he retired from Fox Hollow Golf Course. Later he returned to Indiana to be closer to most of his children and grandchildren. He was a big University of West Virginia fan and one of the hugest Yankees fans ever. He was never seen without his Yankees hat on.

Tony is survived by Dick Lash; six children, Perry Tomei, Mike (Nikki) Tomei, Sheri Tomei Bunnell, Marci (Michael) Six, Kelsie Tomei and Brandon Tomei; seven grandchildren, Nick, Danielle, Aurra, Halle, Harrison, Christopher and Giovanni; one great-grandson, Zaedyn.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Tony Tomei Sr. and Angie Lash; his brother, Gary Lash and his son, Timothy.
