Tommy Wayne Wessinger, 52, of Franklin, husband of Amy Marie Strickland Wessinger died July 28, 2018. Born in Marietta June 24, 1966, he was a son of Tommy Ray and Mary Frances Strickland Wessinger. He was a heavy machine operator for most of his life having worked with underground utilities. He formerly served as a youth baseball coach throughout his son’s younger life. Mr. Wessinger was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Some of his most precious moments were spent on long nature walks with his grandson. He was preceded in death by a brother Michael Wessinger. Surviving in addition to his wife of thirty-three years of the home and parents of Douglasville are a son, Devin Wessinger and wife Kaitlin of Franklin; one grandson, Levi Wessinger; paternal grandmother, Velma Wessinger of Douglasville; sister, Tammy James and husband Eric of Powder Springs; a sister-in-law, Anita Wood and husband John; a brother-in-law, Rusty Strickland and wife Wanda, all of Franklin; nieces and nephews, Wade Wood and fiancée Claire, Marcus James and wife Kelsie, Dalton James and fiancée Lexi and Landon Strickland; great-niece, Kenzleigh James; and numerous cousins and friends.
