Tommy Dwaine McDonald

Tommy Dwaine McDonald was born May 2, 1944 in Lexington, NE. to Lt William T. McDonald and Doris E. McDonald. He passed from this earth on July 10th, 2015 in Destin, Fl. after a short illness. He leaves to survive his passing, a daughter Lori Klees of Los Angeles, CA; his mother, Doris McDonald; a brother, Brian McDonald and his wife Barbara of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; nephews, Bill McDonald of Jacksonville, Fl and Warren McDonald his wife Colleen and their sons James, Aiden and Sean of Tampa, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife Martha and father William T. McDonald.
As a young boy, he traveled the world as a military dependent living in places such as Guam, Canada, and Germany as well as Florida, Ohio, Mississippi and New Mexico in the USA. In 1961 he graduated from high school in Kaiserslautern, Germany, and then attended Florida State University. While at FSU he met his first wife Linda Jean Sturtridge and to this union was born a daughter Lori Jean.
He worked for IBM for a number of years, and then in 1970 he started work for Searle Diagnostics as a salesman where he became the youngest regional manager at the age of 26. He was married to Jane Gardner McDonald for 21 years during this time. In 1981 he left Searle Diagnostics for a job that did not require as much travel allowing him to spend more time with his family, this new job was with Bowen Oil Tools in Houston, Texas. Bowen transferred Tom and his family to Houma, LA in 1982 and in 1983 he left Bowen to work for Whiting Oilfield Rentals where he worked until he retired.
After retiring from Whiting Oilfield Rentals Tom moved to Niceville, FL to be closer to his parents.
Tommy loved the outdoors and found many opportunities to hunt, fish and golf. He qualified for Boon and Crockett, killing a mule deer with over 52 points. He was on the golf team in college, made the cut for the U.S. Open tournament and enjoyed golf every chance he got. He participated in many B.A.S.S. Masters tournaments. He will be missed by many, especially Josh Pein, co-hart at work and dear friend.
