Tommie Lewis Bailey, 79 of Rolesville, North Carolina passed away August 18,2022. He was born August 30, 1942 in Vance County North Carolina to the late E. Norris Bailey and Evelyn Currin Bailey. He was predeceased by his brother, Ronnie Bailey and niece, Gail Blackmon. Tommie is survived by his wife Kay Keith Bailey, his middle school sweetheart and wife of 59 years. They were blessed with three children: Wendy (Jimmy Green), Michael (Allison Bailey) and Lorie Bailey. Tommie had 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren who were his pride and joy.
In 1966, his father opened E Norris Bailey & Sons store at the intersection of NC Hwy 96 and US 401. Tommie made the store his passion in 1974. He never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone he met. He loved going to his Northern home at Kerr Lake. He also spent many hours in Moore’s Pond trying to catch that 12-pound bass.
One of Tommie’s favorite sayings was “Glad you got to see me today” to which his family would respond “”Made my day”. It soon became a competition to see who could say it first.
