Tom Wigans passed away December 24, 2021 at the Humboldt Memorial Hospital at the age of 60. Tom “Wiggy” Gail Wigans, the son of Gail & Phyllis (Gregersen) Wigans was born on November 19, 1961 in Fort Dodge, IA. He grew up on a farm outside of Renwick and graduated in 1980 from the Boone Valley Community School. He began working at Chantland at the age of 19 to present. Throughout the years he worked as an EMT for the Humboldt EMS and did construction work for Gronbach Construction. Growing up he enjoyed hunting, trapping, and golfing but his favorite hobby was riding horses. His family has many treasured memories of horse camping with him at Brushy Creek and a highlighted trip to the Black Hills to ride. He was always the leader of the pack on trail rides, would stop to point out the beauty of wildlife along the way and helped his three sisters saddle their horses for every ride. Later in life he enjoyed riding his bike, hunting and attending the Clay County Fair to watch Chuckwagon races with his dad. He was a proud Uncle to his 6 nieces & nephews who have fond memories of him. He was the first one to get down on the floor to help them put together new toys at Birthdays and Christmas. Tom is survived by his mother, Phyllis Wigans of Humboldt, sisters, Lauri (Larry) Beilke of Humboldt, Paula (Kevin) Skow of Humboldt, Stacy (Travis) Tate of Renwick, nieces & nephews Trista (Kevin) Wuebker, Kiersten (Marcus) Gatewood, Trey (Courtney) Thompson, Shelby (Chris) Weigle, Colton Tate, Shanee (Joel) Haberman & his beloved cat Fred. Preceded in death by his dad, Gail (Chump) Wigans & both sets of grandparents, several aunts & uncles whom he enjoyed spending time with and they loved his smile and humor.
